  • Cassandra Litten, Administrator of Congregational Life

Cassandra is a writer (who published her first poetry collection, Oranges Squeezed Dry, in 2023), an avid reader, film lover, and proud Detroit resident. She worked as the Office Manager at Antioch Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills for 3.5 years, a role which fueled her enthusiasm for social justice and redefined her understanding of Christ's all-encompassing love. When she's not at Emmanuel, you can probably find her catching an old Hollywood flick at the Redford Theatre, enjoying a peaceful walk in a local cemetery, or napping with her two black cats, Ichabod and Banshee.

  • Pastor Emeritus Walt Dickinson

I graduated from Capital University in 1966 and seminary in 1970. I met my wife, Sue, at Capital University and we were married in 1970. We have been blessed with four children and nine grand children. I was ordained at my childhood church, St. Luke’s in Baltimore, Maryland. My first call was to Christ Lutheran Church in Warren. After four I accepted a call to the mission congregation, Sword of the Spirit Lutheran in Livonia. After a merger in 1992 the new congregation became Emmanuel Lutheran. I was pastor here until my retirement, and now I enjoy helping out as Pastor Emeritus. Throughout my ministry I felt relationships were always important in the congregational life, including young kids, teens and adults. As a pastor I wanted to provide opportunities for people to develop their faith and establish a relationship with their God and Savior, Jesus. As long as I am able, I will contribute to the ministry at Emmanuel.
