YOUTH SUMMIT – Bridges Not Walls Youth Leaders’ Summit. Several youth from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordon and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) will be visiting Michigan in July and August 2011, and they would like to meet lots of people – especially other youth - during their visit here. The Southeast Michigan Synod is sponsoring a three-day Youth Summit, Tuesday, July 26 through Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Camp in Midland, Michigan. All Senior High youth are eligible to attend this event aimed at building lasting relationships and gaining a better understanding of life, faith, and every day realities for Christian teens living in the Holy Land. The cost is ONLY $40 – and includes meals, lodging and all programming for the three days. Youth may use funds from their student accounts for this event. Sign up on the bulletin board or see Judy Cook, Dylan Cook, or Julie Davis for additional information. Emmanuel Youth to attend Leadership Training School (LTS) and Advanced Leadership Training School (ALTS) We are please to share that we will have 5 young people attending leadership training through our Living Water Ministries this summer. Those attending LTS will be Mitchell Carlson and Sheridan Konczal. Those youth attending ALTS (who completed Leadership Training School last summer) will be Mikaela Carlson, Cooper Abel, and Michael Perian. The leadership training school is July 31 – August 5 at Camp Michi-Lu-Ca in Fairview, Michigan. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow in leadership skills and in faith in Christ. God’s Blessings to these young people as they attend leadership training this summer! Bass Lake Festival The 2011 Bass Lake Festival is held at Camp Michi-Lu-Ca in Fairview, Michigan on August 5-8. Lake is for youth entering 9-12 grade in the fall of 2011 and the cost for youth is $95 which includes a free T-Shirt. Those 18 and older may go as adult participants. Bass Lake is a Christian Music Festival for High School aged youth which provides an “outside the box”, grace-filled experience of the Christian faith. Through great music, unique learning opportunities, and a relaxed, community-building atmosphere, this event shares the Gospel with youth from all backgrounds and levels of maturity in beautiful outdoor setting. |
