A Christmas tree decorated with mittens and stocking caps

DECEMBER 2018 – GOOD HOPE, DETROIT CHILDREN’S CENTER, & WORLD MEDICAL RELIEF

We will continue our emphasis on Good Hope Food Pantry’s clothing, toy and household item give away on December 15, 2017. Emmanuel will be collecting toys, games, hats, coats and gloves.  Items should be new or gently used.  The items can be placed under the Christmas tree in the gathering area.  This food pantry has been in operation since the mid 80s and has grown from a 25 boxes of food to 120+ boxes of food distributed twice per month.  Please support Good Hope Lutheran Church’s ministry to help those in need.

** Please donate items  for the Good Hope Christmas distribution by December 9th.

Sock, Hat & Mitten Tree – Socks, hats and mittens placed on the Christmas tree in the Gathering area in December will go to the Detroit Children’s Center in downtown Detroit to support young people during the winter months.

All monies donated for the Emphasis of the Month in December will go to World Medical Relief’s Blanket Relief Program. World Medical Relief is working to purchase twin size blankets as well as crib blankets to distribute to homeless shelters, churches and human service agencies in metro Detroit. By purchasing in bulk, they can buy a twin-size blanket for as little as $7 and a crib blanket for $5 to help support little ones in the metro Detroit area.
