Emmanuel is a congregation located in Livonia, Michigan. It is made up of about 450 baptized and averages around 150-175 in worship. With an average age of 39, we have a lot of young families and children and continue to seek ministries that will meet their needs. We are supportive of the diverse variety of family struggles in today’s society.

We are affiliated with the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) which has its national headquarters in Chicago. In Michigan, we are part of the Southeast Michigan Synod.

Visitor parking is available in the first row closest to the entrance. Handicap parking is also available on the right as you enter the parking lot.

Our facility is on one level with and very accessible to varying physical needs. Hearing devices available.

youthWe offer Sunday school during our 9:30am service for preschool through adults. Most Sundays the youth either begin or end in the service. Many families choose to send the children to Sunday school while the adults join us in service. Sunday school often follows the message in the service and provides opportunities to connect what has been learned later at home with the family.

We also offer a staffed nursery during our 9:30 service. All three services are welcome to young children. We have long believed an empty seat makes more noise than a crying child. Don’t feel upset or embarrassed by a restless child. Activity bags are available on the way into the worship space as well as scribble cards in front of most seats.

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID 19, our Sunday morning in-person worship times have been suspended until further notice.  We offer a live-stream worship service on Sunday mornings starting at 10:00 am on our Facebook page:

The church office will be open Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm during this suspension.  If you need pastoral assistance or have other concerns, please call the office at 248-442-8822.  You can also check out our Facebook page for more news and updates.

Pastors Message is approachable and he often preaches in series or themes that grow week over week. He always finds a way to make his talks captivating and applicable in some way to everyone. There is always a way to bring the message home into your everyday to grow yourself and your faith.

Coffee and treats are available between services and provide an opportunity for you to connect and we welcome you to join us.

Service length is typically 60-75 minutes.

We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! Please don’t hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at 248.442.8822.

Our Mission & Values

A – Accept All
B – Build Faith Through Engaging Experiences
C – Connect Church With Home
D – Do Caring Acts of Love & Service

By connecting church and home, Emmanuel equips people to love God and serve others as Christ loves us.
We can do this by serving the needs of God’s people in all stages of life, with particular emphasis on Young families Youth Group, Youth and young adults and Special needs populations in our church and community.

We can accomplish this by becoming…

  • Deeper through Discipleship (growing in faith)
  • Stronger through Worship (being nurtured in God’s Word)
  • Warmer through Fellowship (developing relationships with God’s people)
  • Broader through Ministry (serving God’s people)
  • Larger through Evangelism (sharing our faith with others)

Our Vision

Our vision at Emmanuel is that by “connecting church and home, we equip people to love God and serve others as Christ loves us”. We know that vibrant faith formation happens when faith is demonstrated both in the church community as well as at home. Faith practices of parents, grandparents and other adults in the home not only strengthens their faith, but is also an important influence on the faith development of youth. We provide opportunities and resources that will help people of all ages not only grow in faith through worship and related church activities, but also at home with the family unit. Devotions, caring conversations, service, and rituals and traditions done at home continue to build upon the faith foundation begun in a church community.

God’s blessings to you and thank you for stopping to learn more about us!
