Emmanuel provides a variety of opportunities for people to gather to have fun and make new friends. These events range from parties to dining out or going to events as a group.
 

STUDY
Alpha Class

Sunday Morning 9:30 Adult Class - Contact Roy Finkenbine.

"The Frazzled Female" – WOMEN’S WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY - Begins Wed. Sept. 12th at 9:30 a.m.

Weekly Lectionary Study - Monday mornings at 10 a.m. - Meet with Pastor Walt to study the weekly lectionary lessons.


WORSHIP
Drama Team - To bring God's word and the Good News of Christ to our congregation and community through the powerful media of the performing arts which include but are not limited to: skits, monologues, plays, musicals, liturgical dance, poetry readings, clowning, and films.  Contact Kim Mott.

Video Ministry - Video is a very powerful tool in today's on-going Christian ministry!  Utilizing this facet of technology heightens the experience of worship for our congregation and can expand our ministry to those outside of our church family that we normally wouldn't be able to reach.  Contact Kim Mott.

Worship - Worshiping God is a big part of what we do at Emmanuel.  Want to help plan the Worship.  Contact Katherine VanLoke or Walt Dickinson.

Cares Ministry - Help welcome visitors and new members.

Angels Place - The guys from Angels Place have been a real blessing for our Congregation.  These guys live in a group home for the Developmentally Disabled.  Emmanuel provides transportation on Sunday mornings and a Bible study for our good friends.  Contact Bob Kortba or Judy Cook.

TAG (Technical Arts Group) - This group works with computers, the Church sound systems, projection system, website, and formats the services for projection.  Contact Dan Putman.

Nursery - Help our little one's feel safe and secure while their parents worship.  Contact Judy Cook

Stephen MinistryStephen Ministry - This group of individuals go through an intensive training program in order to help minister to individuals in need.  To learn more, click here.  Contact Connie Kortba or Katherine VanLoke.

SERVICE COMMITTEES
Funeral Lunches - Helping to ease some of the burden during these difficult times.  Contact Paula Jackson, Dawn Acosta or Kim Love.

Social Concerns - How do we make a difference in this world.  Contact Jackie Nixon.

Stewardship - How do you use the big 3.  Time, Talent and Treasurers.  Contact Jerry Bricker.

Property - Like to tinker and fix things.  Want to help maintain the church?  Contact Bob Heien.

Building Committee - Emmanuel is evaluating expanding our building to meet our space needs.  Contact Dave Koskela or Dan Putman.

Adopt-a-Road - This service project allows us to provide service by cleaning up Seven Mile Road several times per year.  Contact Rebecca Couser.

Church Council - This elected group establishes and monitors the annual budget, sets policies and sets a vision for where Emmanuel needs to go.  Emmanuel prides itself in being a permission giving congregation, which means that we give permission to everyone to follow their Ministry as long as it fits into the Gospel.  Contact Jeff Enderlen.

Coffee Clutchers- Help prepare coffee for Sunday morning fellowship times.  Contact Joan Dague.

Altar Guild - Prepare communion and other needs.  Contact Joan Dague.

Website - Helping to share information about Emmanuel.  Contact Dan Putman.

Library - We offer a great library with books and multi-media materials.  Contact Linda Carier or Bernie Noffert.

SMALL GROUPS
Book Club - Read a great book and discuss it on a monthly basis.  Contact Jackie Nixon.

Mothers of Pre-schoolers (MOPS)MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers.  Click here for more information.  Contact Allison Potter.

Men's Breakfast - 1st Saturday of each month at 7:30 a.m.  Come and join this group of men to enjoy a great breakfast, prayer and study of Christian subjects.

Creative Memories - Scrapbooking Group, come and learn some new ideas.

Small Groups allow people to get to know each otherWomen's Ministry - Group of women gather quarterly for a mid-morning brunch.  Work on several other projects each year.  Contact Rebecca Couser.

Couples Group - Come and join in with this opportunity to learn, share and have fun.  Contact Tim & Cheryl Phillips or Sara Barth.

Via De Cristo - This is a great opportunity to learn more about the "Way of Christ".  Reunion groups exist to help support our way.  Contact Toni Patterson.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Bowling - Contact Jan Watkeys.

Volleyball League
- Join our coed volleyball team at the Livonia Recreation Center.  Contact P.J. Colbeck.

Senior Lunch - This group of Seniors meets monthly for lunch.

Softball League - Emmanuel has two coed softball teams that play in Livonia on Sunday evenings.  Contact Dave Ripple or Matt Lapham.

Golf League - Come and fellowship while playing golf.  Contact Jerry Bricker.
 

MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
Making music together with others is a rewarding experience, and a pleasant and fulfilling way to serve God through the church. There are a number of opportunities for people to be involved in the music ministry at Emmanuel. No previous musical experience is necessary, just a willingness to participate and learn and share your talents and abilities. There are singing choirs and hand bell playing choirs:

Adult ChoirADULT CHOIR - for all adults. Junior high and senior high school students are also invited to sing along with this choir. Rehearsals are each Thursday evening from 7:15 to 8:30. The choir sings mostly for the 11:00 service, and also sings for some special services such as Christmas Eve.  Contact  Dorothy Trent.

SONG TEAM - This group gives leadership to the 9:30 Contempory service.   Contact Valorie McCune.

Bells ChoirTWO HANDBELL CHOIRS - These are open to adults and high school students and to younger people with approval of the director. The Joy-Us Ringers rehearse each Thursday evening from 6:15-7:15. The Chancel Bells rehearse every Thursday morning from 8:00-9:00. The choirs play occasionally for both the 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 worship services and some special services such as Christmas Eve.  Contact Dorothy Trent.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR - Val McCune, our Contemporary Worship Leader, leads this group on Saturday mornings at 10:30 (for about 45 minutes).  Contact Valorie McCune
